Re: Le Tour
I'm not a fan of mass sprints...
too dangerous and the race is somewhat more boring...

Re: Le Tour
Yeap! I don't like it as well, but it only happens on the flat stages. The sprint itself is quite cool though...
And YAY! Freire from the RABOBANK won!
Quite happy to see that he won a stage. I wonder why Colombia didn't help Cavendish out. : /
He would have probably won this stage if he could follow the peleton.
Tomorrow there's mountains for the yellow jersey competitors. I really like to see what CSC is going to do.... Knowing them, they have a plan. That's for sure!

Re: Le Tour
what a great race! What a finish! CSC's barely made it! Congrats to F. Schleck. But I've to say that I feel pity for Evans too since he tried and tried till the very end and you know, 8 seconds aren't the end of the world. The fight will go on.
Oh, and naturally: Congrats to the winners! It was an amazing escape.

Re: Le Tour
Indeed! Great race!
CSC stepped up, just as you would expect from them. Now they'll be riding in yellow. They got a real good team. This will be tough!
I thought Menchov had a great opportunity ... if he didn't fall! >___<
Oh well, he got some time back and is now 4th at 38 seconds, so he's in range. xD
Evans was only following Schleck.... I say he is being a coward. At times like these, you should attack! The commentators here say he's a "calculating" cyclist and I support their opinion. Way too defensive... : /
Although I say that, he's an Australian and thus never give up. I wonder how he will attack, because he has to come out now.

Re: Le Tour
yeah, that was really bad luck for Rabobank...he got away and then fell so unlucky in a curve. Andy Schleck impressed me. That man had stamina till the end and leaded his two captains nearly till the finish line.
And yeah, Evans is a coward. Or maybe he didn't have the needed energy left.

Re: Le Tour
Yeah, he didn't have the energy to follow Schleck in the end. Too defensive. He didn't fight from his own strength, he fought from the strength others showed and reacted to that. That just takes more energy. : /
Also Pereiro fell hard, or so I heard. I didn't really see it, but I heard he fell down a cliff or something?
Also have to give credit for the smiling third that one. I really laughed hard when he won the stage. Let the first fight it out and win from them in the end! BRILLIANT!

Re: Le Tour
yeah, it was before a U-turn during the long descent. He crushed against the street borders and fell down 5-7metres (roughly estimated) onto the "backcoming" street.

Re: Le Tour
yay, still CSC. Just a change of roles^^.
But it'll be really hard against Evans. Let's hope for a good time trial from Sastre!

Re: Le Tour
Damn! CSC is good! Sastre went on the Alpe d'Huez, great attack!
Too bad Menchov couldn't follow..
We'll just have to see how the Time Trials will go.

Re: Le Tour
They took it!
Deserved winner!
The commentator said something remarkable. He did say this earlier in the Tour.
Evans was riding a race to not lose, but CSC was riding to win. Riding to not lose will lead to loss.
And how true that turned out to be. I think it was a nice Tour, with many surprises.
I mean, what's with Kohl?!? He turned out to be third!! I think that was a big surprise.
