Le Tour
tomorrow'll be le départ!
Tour de France 2008
--------------------------
étapes: 21
longeur: 3500 kilomètres
Durée: Du samedi 5 au dimanche 27 juillet 2008
the first stage has a total length of 197.5 km.
Départ: Brest
Arrivée: Plumelec

who's gonna rule the tour?
I hope that my favourite team (CSC) will do fine, and hopefully Cancellara will dominate the time trials!
some French words one must know:
le péloton = the mainpack
le maillot jaune = the yellow yersey = the leader
le maillot vert = the green yersey = the best sprinter
le maillot blanch = the white yersey = best youngstar
le maillot à pois = the "pointed yersey" = best climber
une descente = going downhill
une montée = a climb
so yeah, let's look forward to the Tour!!
bonne chance to all riders!

Re: Le Tour
I hope Rabobank is going to pull it off! Take revenge for what Rasmussen did... or something... xD... In case, you didn't know. Rabobank --> The Netherlands!
That's why I'm supporting them! xD
Although that Australian guy Evans is also a favourite. He's been close every time. He might snatch it this time.
And I'll just qoute Mathi31!
Indeed!

Re: Le Tour
lol, I'm for Holland concerning soccer/football, but in cycling...GO CSC
but yeah, the thing with Rasmussen was quite a shock.
and hopefully there won't be such cases as Alex. Vinokurov or the t-mobile team this year!
let's hope for a Tour withouth all this doping trash. (but if you look at the tour numbers, it's practically impossible to finish such a race fair...pressure's too high)

Re: Le Tour
xD! Switzerland...You must know what happened in Bern? So many Dutch fans! xD
A doping free Tour, hopefully they'll succeed this year! I don't think they'll do it though, I think we can trust them this year.
Just filled in a poule! xD

Re: Le Tour
Hmm... just have to see how he's going to defend it. I thought it was going to end up into an mass sprint! At the last moment, one rush from Valverde. Great to watch!
I'll have to see how Valverde's going to defend his jersey.
These first stages are quite boring... Can't wait till we arrive at the mountains. That's where the battle is best! xD

Re: Le Tour
wahh, cancellara started his sprint way too soon...what a pity!!
Oh boy, Valverde's very strong this year! Let's see if he'll dominate the tour from the very start till the end.

Re: Le Tour
Err...I only know this name recently...Stefan Schumacher? Some people said this person will rule...after Jan Ulrich days are gone...
And I can't watch the live show...I guess Tour de France isn't popular in Indonesia

Re: Le Tour
Makes me happy that the Tour de France is in France! xD
Well, the mountains have arrived and here's where I hope the real battle begins! Two mountains from the 1st category .... Quite difficult, so there MUST come some attacking!!
I even thought that the Basque group in the orange shirts, would attack or something. A bit weird, since the group just went in front the peleton.
EDIT:
The race is just over and what a race!! The Australian is in the yellow jersey by 1 SECOND!!!!!! O___O
Unbelievable!! What a great race, although I expected more from Evans. He could have gained a better lead if he just accelerated with Schleck. On the other hand, you can always say.... It's a long way untill you get to Paris!

Re: Le Tour
Indeed! It was a nice race.
One thing is certain though. CSC will attack! They'll most likely do that in the Alps! And CSC is really good in the tactical stuff, so yeah... they did good!
Although I don't think the favourites are beaten, they only lost some time. I think they didn't expect that or thought that Schleck wasn't as dangerous as Sastre.
Still, I'd like to see if Schleck is going to hold the yellow or not... I'm hoping to see some more fireworks in the Alps!
