Possible Translator

Post by Porticulis on Fri Jun 05, 2009 10:50 pm

Erm I can translate Chinese to English like most of the other translators here. I'd love to help if it's required. ^^

I have a question. Do you write fanfics? XD

That would be AMAZING! Dark will give you a TL test/assignment thingy later but it will be something from volume 6... I think... only Dark knows. Cool beans ^^

I'm gonna say that you have me at a disadvantage if you recognise the username, and please feel free to make it fairer for me. XD;; (Please let it be one of my less embarassing fictions if that's how you know.) Yes, I do write fictions.

Vol. 6? Well I'll try my best with this test. I originally found my way here because of AnK, but helping with other stuff is ok too since it'll speed up AnK releases ultimately. Ah but, I probably can't translate Jap names very well 'cos though the characters remain the same the pronunciation is quite different. Of course there's always tangorin . . .

Um. Yes. Well. The fic I read was a Beyblade fic on ffn a while ago~ I've liked it ever since though. It was Bryan and Rei I believe. XD

Haha don't worry it's not that official and awe-inducing XD

Yes, AnK is amazing. Well, for TLs, we only do Over Drive and Area no Kishi at the moment so it's one or the other really. And Area no Kishi has a more regular TLing schedule. I think. I don't know how things go with OD lol XD I should probably find out >.>

Don't worry. I have a guide up and stuff for that XD I might type the chinese equivalent one of these days after my exams ><

Hooo boy . . . that one huh . . . I was still so young then . . .

Well thank you. As a writer it's always a pleasure to know someone has enjoyed their work. I really put a lot of effort into it at the time when I was still struggling with my descriptive abilities. It brings back a lot of fond memories too. Thank you for having appreciated it.

*ahem* More on topic, I'll stand by for any approaching trials and if I fall asleep soon (almost midnight here) I'll do it by tomorrow. I'll look up OD in onemanga or something, in case the test is on it, but maybe tomorrow. *yawns*

Haha yeah I meant Dark, Porticulis and me XD
Tanequil (another translator) is, too~

Haha, for me the TL process is like: Aaaah! I know what they're trying to say! Key words jumbling in my brain! Now how to write it out coherently in the way the character would say it?! =P

I'm more like- Arggggh! This is not simplified script it's fan ti! What is this name in Japanese?? What is this soccer term?? Wuoooo is Guooooh in English right? This translation sounds funny...

At least that's what it's been like so far. Translating lyrics is so much easier.

Oh yeah! I forgot about that. >< Sorry!!! I don't think there are any simplified Chinese AnK volumes out now though. Um. Maybe they released it in China. I dunno. I'll look~! God, I can't believe I forgot about that totally when we have 2 SG translators already! o.o

Oh uh. You know what.I'll send you the name list soon. As for wuooooo I like 'yeah' or 'ohhhhh' or 'aaahhh' depending but it doesn't really matter.

Ah, it's fine really. I don't have that much trouble with the fan ti. Just takes getting used to and there are online dictionaries. But you'd really be helping me out with the names, thanks. Checking it bit by bit is slowing me down. Yeah the onomatopeia is a pain but really fun. Anyway it's just a test so we'll see how it goes. ^^

No worries really. You will most definitely grow and get used to the idea with every page you translate. Smile
