Heya Kzero!

I too love road cycling. That's probably the main reason why we started over drive anyways.

20km rides aren't that bad. But don't overdo it at the beginning. If you've just recently started to train, it is the most important thing to build up your stamina. You do that by riding at about 60 percent of your maximum puls rate which should be around 130-140.
As for going uphill, I usually shift two gears up if I intend to stand up and attack the hill by riding standing.

Concerning me, I've been cycling for about 3.5 years now. I usually do 50km rides during the week and some 100km+ ones if I have enough time, but I'm not in a club, so it's all just for fun.

have fun on our forums!
