Cleaning test by Rinibee
Hajimemashite.
Rini desu
… I’m not sure what happened but I can’t seem to see the words I’m typing. Everything is in white…
Only when I highlight the area, the words are visible
… hence… my sulky mood
<gomehnasai>
Anyway, I’m going to try and go ahead to summit my 1+2 edited test work.
(I’m a complete novice trying to attempt this high-level task… )
Please comment & advice.

Re: Cleaning test by Rinibee
ah! sorry for the dodgy theme! It went ballistic on us. I have changed it to another temporary one though.
anyway, I'm not an actual cleaner, but I did pick up a few things. There are still some random black dots (which i like to call dust) in the sfx and in the bubbles. Always clean those off. Hmm... the rest I like... but, you should wait for mathi and kid to come in and check. they're our editors after all.
lastly, THANK YOU for applying. People like you (who don't mind giving new things a shot) drive fan-based scanlation groups like us!

Re: Cleaning test by Rinibee
I wanna add my summaries
The cleaning test page is actually a double page, so you have to merge both pages into a nice and clean double page.
http://www.n-u-l-l.net/wiki/index.php/Double_redrawing -> try to look this as reference.
So, you must merge the doubles, redraw the japanese text (your image 2a is good), and export 'em...any questions? don't hesitate to ask me.

Hey, Welcome Rini! I'm glad you made it to our forums!
I like your redrawing of the helmet on page 2a!
Good luck for doing the double page!

Image host fails?
You mean the Double page spread link doesn't work?
Strange... it works on my end... :-(
... should I host it again?

Re: Cleaning test by Rinibee
It works! Now, comments from me:
Awesomeness! Nice and clean indeed!
A bit advice: the redraws on Yamato's helmet (top left), the lines isn't crisp enough, use pen tool or polygonal lasso tool in future to redraw, but if you prefer using brush, that's fine as long as the crispiness is taken care off (though it depends on the raw XP). Anyway, yours is fine cuz it's gonna be covered by texts and we won't doing Overdrive till a translator applied.
Lastly, Thanks for your interests! I'd say you passed, btw which project that interest you?

Re: Cleaning test by Rinibee
Hee Hee... you guys are teasing me right?!! ^_^
I've only learned Japanese for a little more than 2 years now & I'm currently in Intermediate level.
So I don't think I am able to do the translation well nor am I even half qualified to attempt such important task ^_^
But if you have any hard translation you need a hand, I can get my sensei to help ^_*

Re: Cleaning test by Rinibee
ah you see, our OverDrive TL-er's been MIA for a long time, so we're just hoping someone can fill in her position soon, that's all.

Re: Cleaning test by Rinibee
Ah... you see... filling-in temporary might be ok... no 'tension' you see... ^__^
Umm... maybe you'd like to consider passing me 1/2 a chapter of the raw & I'll see what I can do... and by doing so, you will be able to QC if my translation is acceptable... for us to continue on...
I have Japanese classes every Mon & Thurs... so I see my sensei very often... I'll do what I can while those difficult ones... I'll learn when she explains to me.
Umm... please tell me it has Furigana... I'm hopeless in kanji... :-(
At least we can get the Overdrive project moving again... while we wait for the real translator to return to us ^_^
It's a suggestion...
Dou? ^_^

Re: Cleaning test by Rinibee
hey, sounds great! Yeah, it has furigana!! I recently started learning Japanese too (about a month ago) and I just know about 150-200 words and some grammar, but even I was able to translate some sentences^^.
as for the raws, check the RAWs thread in the staff section.
and if you don't know a good internet dictionnary, here is a decent one:

Re: Cleaning test by Rinibee
and that site links to http://www.aa.tufs.ac.jp/~jwb/cgi-bin/wwwjdic.cgi?1C which is also great.
mhm yeah, take a look at OD raws. Since the target audience is 13-15 year old guys, I'd imagine the language won't get too difficult... give it a shot! Oh, we're on chapter 14 btw.

Re: Cleaning test by Rinibee
LOL Area no kishi has Furigana too, it's a lifesaver when translating names XD
Now if only the credits page had it too! T_T
Yeah I know PJ! I was staying there in the summer! If only we had talked earlier! XD But I am back in HK now. <_< I don't think I will go back there to stay, but Still, we'll see ^_^
And WWWJDIC is the best jp-en-jp online dictionary around!
