Hey all! If anyone here is interested, you can also use Pidgin to connect to irc.
Basically you go to account settings, make an account for irc, put in your chosen name and "irc.irchighway.net", and then let it go. After it logs you in, just type "/join #chibisuke-scans" in the "Global" tab, and you're good to go!
