Proofreader or cleaner

Post by Satomi on Tue Apr 13, 2010 11:08 am

Hey, so I noticed in AnK that you guys would like people to help out... I've read AnK and OD for a while now and would like to become a proofreader or cleaner for either of these, although I'll help out with pretty much any project. Unfortunately, I don't have and have never owned photoshop, so I'm not sure that I can be of much help as a cleaner. However, I learn quickly and can usually figure things out as I go along. Anyway, hopefully I can be of some help!

Oh hey, you're applying for the same exact things I applied for...well, I didn't really do the proofreading test and ended up not becoming a proofreader, but yeah...

Anyways, Photoshop can be downloaded (through torrent, I would check the comments and the rating of the torrent before I download it). Give me a while to find the guide that mathi linked me for cleaning....if I can find it, if not, ask mathi for it.

Hey Satomi! It'll be great to have your help.

I'll send you a chapter from Ank to proof as a test... but probably tomorrow since I'm booked solid today.

Thanks for the advice, blennz. Once I figure out how to use photoshop I'll definitely try the test.

Just remember, you only need to learn how to level, and it would be useful to learn how to use the pen tool as well, unless you have a tablet.

We seem to be getting a lot of new cleaners lately, even though I think we need typesetters more. Though I haven't seen Rhystic since he joined.

Satomi has given me his test for Proofreading... I just haven't had time to check it since I focused on the Ank release this weekend. It seems that he wants to primarily PR, but wouldn't mind learning how to do cleaning if we need the help.

Blennz gave him the link for the cleaner test.

Hmm..can I see the proofreading test? I have good enough grammar to be able to see some things (thanks to my 7th grade English teacher, the only English teacher to have ever taught me anything that stayed in my head).

I'm up for pretty much any job except translating, I just don't have Photoshop right now. I don't want to download it off torrent because I know someone who's buying it soon. He probably isn't going to use it very often so I can borrow it whenever I want to Smile

You only need to borrow the CD once to install and you're basically good unless you have to wipe out your hard drive, then you have to reinstall again.

Lol good, because when you said that you can borrow it whenever you want, I kind of wondered why you would do that.

Probably a proofreader, at least to begin with. We'll see from there.
