Over Drive question...
I just found out that Over Drive is actually complete and i even found links of the complete series' raws... So I was just wondering why hasn't it been fully translated yet like most complete manga out there ^^
Re: Over Drive question...
Well, this is just me mind you, but I think many people have stuff to do and often times try their best to get the releases out but there are many people working on the projects so there are many cogs to this scan "machine" and sometimes peoples' schedules don't coincide so that just means it takes a little bit longer to fit the pieces together.

It takes a while for the scanning process to occur. If you want the releases to be faster, you should help us out by joining.

Well, we already have the RAWs, so someone translates the text, and someone cleans the chapter, the translation is proofreaded, then someone typesets it, and after all that, we do quality checking, making sure that there's no typos, some things the translator might want to change, etc. You can apply for a job.

The process is called "scanlation" so you can google it or look it up on wikipedia for more details. It's all done by volunteers in their spare time and takes a surprising amount of work from a team of people.

Over Drive actually works like this since it's a joint project with another group:
-The other group (Endless Abyss) does the translations.
-In the mean time, we at Chibisuke will do the editing of the pages, that is, the cleaning (cleaning Japanese text off the background, making sure pages are completely straight, making pages nice and white, removing gutter areas etc...) and the typesetting. Typesetting is when the folks over at Endless Abyss send us the script and typesetters basically just copy paste it in, making sure it looks nice. They also have to decide which fonts to use and allt hat.
-Scripts also have to be proofread before Typesetting by a proofreader, who checks for grammar/spelling mistakes, inconsistencies, and words weird sentences better.
-Lastly before release the chapter will go through a Quality Check. The Quality Checker checks if
a) the cleans are all right (no over-levelling, which is too much contrast, essentially), as well as whether the redraws look acceptable
b) the typesetting has no errors (eg. ugly bubble shape, copy-paste errors like leaving out a sentence)
c) fixes the translated script if it's still a bit weird.
So yea a lot of work goes into each chapter XD

Re: Over Drive question...
wow, ty for the detailed explanation Kouri-chan! ^^
I am currently really busy with college and exams, but I think I could help out when I get some spare time.
