I'm not a staff but I will comment your work if you don't mind, first thing of all, before typesetting, on the bar set your anti aliasng to smooth if you don't want your fonts looks ugly like what you have right now, some of your font is not on the correct size and not positioned in center, and don't use too many weird fonts stick to regulations, and give some space between bubble and text, some of your text is overlapping the bubble, thus making the text hard to read.

and your text shape is already good, but still could use some fix, try to match it by size or try to arrange the text yourself. And you should use vertical text tool for that book flipping SFX, it's make the text more readable, and for outside text, put a stroke effect there . the good one should look like this (this is not the perfect one since every TS have their own way to make the TS looks good)

Hey, blasted...seems you are a noob. scratch

Here's Pakui/Eric test: https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v683/zer0rev/OD%20typeset/Overdrive_097b.jpg

Take a look at his typesetting... pretty good isn't it. That was his second try :p His first try can be viewed here: http://baka87.invisionzone.com/index.php?showtopic=105

And I suggest you look these tutorials too:
http://www.kuu-scans.info/forum/index.php?topic=346.0
http://www.n-u-l-l.net/wiki/index.php/Typeset

Be sure to read them first, and you'll know what is a good Typesetting study (you have to...I read them twice Very Happy), and If you want to ask things...I'll be gladly help you. Very Happy

And for OP typesetting...well Hyuver's typesetting is good...but the space between bubbles is too narrow :p...so make the font size smaller a bit.

whether the font fit or not I believe it up to group, some prefer to use big text, and some small. I like to use big text because I like text that not too small, because I read scanlation on distance, but I admit that my style if affected by Oh!Great uniqueness of drawing bubble, he always use small bubble that leave us TS-er with no choice but to overload the bubble with text :p although it hard to typeset but the result of the TS always great :p

Photoshop makes life easier if you already know how to use it. If not, there's a learning curve, but typesetting only uses one tool, so you really have to get used to the interface and options.

Well, it sounds like blasted doesn't have Photoshop but he did the test, so there are other programs out there that let you typeset. I just can't name any since Photoshop is all I use.

GIMP is an opensource type of program (mostly installed at Linux) that is just like photoshop, can let you edit images and layout/typeset. another one is Paint Shop Pro.
